Welcome!

A Church Bridging the Gap

Grace is a Christian church that meets on campus at NC State. We know that there is a gap between God & people, one another, generations, and cultures. Jesus Christ is the one who can bridge that gap.

We refuse to fall into the trap of complaining about inconsistencies in the church. Rather than complain, we believe that the model Jesus gave us for church is attainable and can make the difference in our world.

We come from various backgrounds, but we have one thing in common. We are discovering what it means to become more like Jesus and work with others to make disciples of Christ that will change our world.

So, if you are looking for a church that exalts Jesus Christ and where you will not feel lost in the crowd; a place where you can connect and use your gifts and talents to honor God and serve people; then Grace is the place.

History

Serving in a church of predominately young families, pastor Berk Wilson and his wife Barbara began to hear many couples openly admit to the struggles in their lives. Continually, many of these couples traced their problems to the neglect of God and the Bible while in college. Through much prayer and counsel, the Wilsons lead a small team to begin a new church which met on the campus of NC State Universtity in 1994. Since that time, Grace has spun off churches serving in the community and other campuses, specifically the Grace House Church Network and Pneuma Christian Fellowship at UNC Wilmington. Through Great Commission Churches, we also minister to countries in Europe, Asia, and Central and South America.

Personality

As Grace has grown and matured one thing has not changed... its youthful heart.

Did you ever notice that most American churches seem to be getting increasingly older as fewer and fewer young adults stay connected with at church? This is not just your imagination. Pollsters have confirmed that 18-35 year olds are increasingly leaving American chruches with no intent of returning or raising their own families in a church community.

We have come to realize that if we can continue to give a timeless message (God's Word) in a timely way, coupled with true Christ centered faith and community, we are most likely to keep the next generation in the church.

Our vision is for a truly intergenerational church. A church where all generations of Christians can see, learn, and own the reality of saving faith and life in Jesus Christ. That is why you will continue to see and experience a casual environment, contemporary music, the use of multi-media and the arts in our services, and why Grace will continue to build next generational ministries and laborers.

Grace is united with Great Commission Churches. Great Commission Churches is a U.S. based fellowship of independent churches designed to equip, unite and provide accountability to churches and ministries that have a desire to fulfill the Great Commission of Jesus Christ. Our heart is that churches will model "New Testament Christianity in Action Today."
